![]() Use PSEXEC.EXE to execute remotely the REMOTE_INSTALL.BAT batch I've build this script below to push our application at customer sites, which is flexible enough to be used in different networks. Very interesting idea, I already had in mind to setup an git for my scripts, but hadn't thought about to use it for pushing them to the clients. ![]() ![]() I will make sure to post the finished script, since this seems to be a unique work! Thank you all for your time and shared brain cells, you are truthfully the best community. I give it a last chance to explain my challenge, because in most situations where the desired answer couldn't be found, a weak explanations is the fault. I'm still not at the point to add a loop into my script to check file meta data against itself, to determine a valid copy process or not, because I have more trust in robust copy tools than my skills. XXCOPY looked promising in the beginning, but even those 1000 switches aren't enough. I'm tired and lost my hope finding a solution after reading >100 internet threads.Īfter checking your most appreciated feedback, I still haven't found any useful CLI solution for my challenge. I have found a software which was made with this in mind, but using XCOPY or ROBOCOPY is my desired way to go, because it doesn't require an installation on the client - unlike this application - just to copy on folder with subdirectories to a network share. Having the same config file a couple of hundred times is stupid and distracts from finding the changes made for each client. I want to backup configuration files from a local folder to a network share in order to roll out an application update since I have the original unmodified files, copying only the config files which were actually changed is my intention. I'm however looking for a command to just stupidly copy only modified files to the destination not newly created or files with an archive bit set, since the archive bit is set for untouched files as well. All of them have in common that the destination folder is compared with the source folder to copy files. ![]() There are a lot of threads for XCOPY or ROBOCOPY which are focusing to backup changed, modified, new files etc. I'm seeking your help in an hopefully not impossible task. ![]()
